Wycombe Pulse started in the summer of 2024, born out of a very specific kind
of panic.
I'm Steph — mum of two, writer, and self-confessed dabbler. That summer, I
was staring down six-and-a-half weeks of school holidays with a five-year-old
and absolutely no idea what was actually happening in town. So I did what
any slightly desperate parent does: I started digging.

Facebook events. Instagram Stories from local influencers. Posters in café
windows. What I found surprised me — there is so much going on in High
Wycombe. Great stuff, too.
The problem? It was scattered across a dozen different places, with no single spot to pull it all together.
And because of that, brilliant events — especially from smaller, independent organisers — were going largely unnoticed. Half-empty rooms for things that deserved to be packed out.
That felt like a waste. So I decided to do something about it.
I come with a slightly unusual combination of skills: years writing and editing
for magazines, plus a background in online marketing. Essentially, I know how
to find an audience and keep them interested. Wycombe Pulse felt like the
obvious thing to build.
Every week, the newsletter rounds up the events, stories, and goings-on that
Wycombe needs to know about — big and small, mainstream and niche, for
families, for couples, for people who just want something good to do on a
Saturday. It's not an exhaustive list (nothing could be), but I try to make it one
worth reading.
Wycombe's got a lot going on. This is just your guide to it.
