Good morning, Wycombe!
This is issue 100. One h u n d r e d. When I started the Pulse a couple of years ago, I hadn’t planned much past issue two, so this feels like a real milestone — and it’s entirely down to you. Thanks for opening these emails, replying, sharing, and putting up with the bad jokes and random rants along the way.
To say thanks, there’s a giveaway competition below for a voucher to my favourite Wycombe restaurant. Consider it a small bribe to keep you around for issue 200 😉
Enough about that — on to the week ahead, and it’s a busy one:
🚨Emergency Services Day on the High St
Go behind the scenes of Bucks’ biggest archaeological dig
🧙🏻♀️ Wildflower & witchcraft walk
Plus we’ve got loads of events for Dads, an Ibiza night at the Airpark, news of a brand new festival, and much more.
Wycombe's got its own proper comedy club now — and the line-up for this one is no joke.
Select Comedy Club's final show before the summer break has pulled together a genuinely brilliant bill, headed up by a man who's sold out arenas with a live-action video game (yes, really).
🎭 Headliner: John Robertson — the human hurricane behind cult hit The Dark Room, with 12 SOLD OUT Edinburgh Fringes, last year’s best-reviewed UK comic, and a "not to be missed" from The Guardian
🎙️ Matt Rouse: BBC New Comedy Award nominee, as seen on Channel 4's The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan
🎤 Hosted by: your lovable local, award-nominated Elliot Wengler — plus more acts to be announced
📍 Patch, the Old Library Building
📅 Thursday 9th July — doors 7:30pm, show 8pm
🎟️ £10 a ticket, or grab the 2-for-£15 earlybird before 4th July
💌 Wycombe Pulse readers get an extra £4 off with code PULSE (that makes it a seriously sweet deal…)
Earlybird tickets are going fast — don't leave this one too late!
