Easter is almost here, and if you’re looking for things to do in High Wycombe, you are absolutely spoilt for choice.
From lambing days and live theatre to egg hunts, art workshops, and trampolining, there’s something in this list for every age — and honestly, a fair few things the grown-ups will enjoy just as much as the kids.

This Easter the museum is celebrating 45 years of George’s Marvellous Medicine, and the programme is brilliant. Included with admission: storytelling sessions, a free Storyboard Trail, and a drop-in craft session to Grow Your Own Grandma. There are also paid workshop add-ons to book: clay rooms, a Marvellous Medicine Lab, and a creative writing session for ages 7+. Book in advance — spaces go fast over Easter.

Hughenden runs a proper Easter trail through the grounds of this stunning Victorian estate — once home to Prime Minister Disraeli, later a secret WWII map-making base, and now one of the loveliest family days out in the area. Follow the clues, collect the eggs, and soak up the Chiltern scenery. Meet the Easter Bunny in week one and farm mascot Marmalade Pig in week two, follow the Easter Scavenger Hunt for a treat, bottle-feed baby goat kids, and visit newborn lambs in the Little Hooves Nursery. Add in indoor soft play, outdoor adventure, tractor rides, mini golf, and live entertainment shows from the Bees Knees, and you’ve got an entire day sorted. There’s an Easter Pass for unlimited visits across both weeks — worth it if you’ll want to go back.

Rosie’s Petal Patch is a beautiful little flower farm tucked into the Walled Garden site at West Wycombe, and the Junior Farmers experience is a gem for children aged 2–14. In a 90-minute session, kids pick their own jam jar of wildflowers to take home, play in the muddy tractor patch, visit the working worm farm, do leaf painting, make a magic potion, and plant a seed to nurture at home. On Easter Sunday there’s also a full Easter egg hunt running all day — crafts, egg hunting, and messy play from 10am to 5pm. A really special one.

The Walled Garden has packed out its Easter calendar with family painting and craft sessions led by Easely Does It — think Turtle Splash family painting, Hipster Bunny artwork, and a Bunny Trinket Bowl clay workshop where you shape and decorate your own Easter bunny bowl in air-dry clay to take home. There are morning and afternoon slots running on most days throughout the fortnight, so there’s plenty of flexibility. Arrive early to grab a coffee from the café before your session — it’s one of the nicest spots in the area for it.

Easely Does It runs a second strand of Easter workshops up at Hughenden, separate from the Walled Garden programme. Highlights include an Easter Bunny pastel drawing workshop on Good Friday (3rd April, 10:30am–12:30pm) and Easter Bunny Fairy craft sessions where families create their own bunny fairy complete with wings and ears. All materials are provided, no experience needed, and the beautiful historic estate makes for a gorgeous backdrop. Spaces are limited so book early.

A brilliant low-cost option right in town. The Easter Egg Hunt sends kids around the museum garden to track down hidden eggs for a chocolate prize — drop in or pre-book, but buy your trail by 3:30pm. The Discover & Make workshops are a 45-minute session combining a gallery trail with hands-on crafts, covering Mighty Lions on 1st April and Isabella’s Basil Pots on 7th & 8th April. Pre-booking is essential for workshops.

Natural messy play on a beautiful Chilterns farm — sensory trays, mud kitchens, paint stations, water play, and seasonal crafts, all made from natural or recycled materials. Designed for children from walking age up to around 7 (siblings to 10 are welcome), with everything child-led and unhurried. Dress them in their scruffiest clothes, pre-book your slot (numbers are deliberately capped), and stay for lunch at the Barn Kitchen afterwards — it’s excellent.

When the kids need to burn off energy and the weather is doing its British thing, this inflatable adventure course at Wycombe Leisure Centre is a solid call. The enormous inflatable is suitable for all ages and includes wipeout balls, slides, free jumps and more. Plus a smaller bouncy castle and soft blocks for smaller kids. Just pure fun. Pre-booking is advised during the holidays.

Rush has added an Easter Energy Quest to its regular sessions — spot clue boards around the park, use special red lens glasses to reveal hidden egg symbols, and complete your answer card for a prize. It adds a nice adventure element to a standard trampoline visit. They’re also running K-Pop Easter Energy Parties on Good Friday (3rd April) and Saturday 4th April — two hours of jumping and dancing with a Best Dressed Competition — at £19.99 per person.

Peppa, Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, and George are coming to the Swan — and there’s a new baby on the way. The Big Family Show runs at around 1 hour 15 minutes and is perfect as a first theatre trip for pre-schoolers and toddlers. Multiple performances across the weekend, but some sessions were already showing as limited tickets left at time of writing. Don’t leave it too late to book.

A cracking Easter egg hunt at one of the Chilterns' most beloved village pubs. Little explorers follow clues, hunt high and low, and put their detective skills to the test — with plenty of giggles along the way. Every kids' main meal also comes with a free dessert, so it doubles up nicely as a family lunch out.

Pick up a map from the village store for £3, then follow the clues to find a hidden word scattered all across West Wycombe village and hill. The route takes in all kinds of terrain — steps, slopes, and everything in between — so allow a couple of hours, and longer if you fancy popping into some of the local businesses along the way. Once you've cracked it, enter the online draw to win a hamper of goodies, with all map sales going to West Wycombe Preschool. A lovely, low-key Easter adventure that's genuinely good for all ages.

A lovely free family day at Grow Together Bucks' community allotment in Wycombe Marsh. The morning Allotment Explorers session includes an Easter hunt, quiz, refreshments, a Compost Explorers Expedition to discover the allotment's hidden helpers, and making an Easter egg seed box to sow and take home. In the afternoon there's a creative session with pebble painting, building a bird's nest to take home, and designing your own imaginary vegetable.

A free drop-in Easter craft session in the town centre, run by Refresh the Marketplace. Kids can make bunny ears and Easter chicks using upcycled materials, with no booking needed and no cost. Just turn up and get creative. A brilliant option if you're in town and want something spontaneous, sustainable, and fun.
