Balancing work and caring for children is almost always hard work.

But it gets particularly tricky around the school holidays.

We’ve been researching all the February half term holiday clubs in High Wycombe.

There’s not quite as much choice as Summer and Easter unless you venture further out of town, but there are still a few good options right here in dear ol’ Wycombe. And there’s really something for everyone — multi-sports, creativity, football, gymnastics, cooking, baking, crafting, competitions and calmness.

Calm Little Minds

We absolutely love Calm Little Minds’ holiday camps and have used them a few times in previous years — our eldest daughter is a big fan!

The company itself is an emotional wellbeing support service so it’ll be no surprise that they really pride themselves on providing a calm, welcoming space to your kids during the holidays. This is not a busy, chaotic and competitive environment in any way.

Some of the activities on offer include crafting, baking, games, inside and outside play.

The Little Gym

The Little Gym’s holidays camps are always very popular with members and non-members alike so it’s best to book early.

With a big emphasis on fun and activities, this is a great option for sporty kids that like to keep their minds and bodies occupied and engaged.

They offer a selection of different workshops. Morning camps are for 3-8 year olds, full day camps for 5-12 year olds and afternoon skill camps for 5-12 year olds too.

Get Active Sports

These guys are a provider of sporty holiday camps all across the UK and offer really good value for their multi-activity camps.

They also offer a long day in comparison to most of the other camps so a good option for parents commuting into London or similar.

Premier Education

This is another nationwide provider with a franchise in Bucks, putting on great value multi-activity sessions.

They specifically say their camps are perfect for kids who like to be active, and that there will be competitive and non-competitive activities to get involved in.

PFA Bucks

If you’ve got a footie fan at home, these half term football camps are not to be missed.

They are incredibly good value and specialise in teamwork, skills and matches, led by FA qualified coaches. All played on grass.

All Kids Active

Another great option for sporty kids in Wycombe is the All Kids Active camps which operate out of various schools in the area.

All of the coaches work in schools delivering PE and sports lessons and many have specific sports coaching qualifications too.

Rachel’s Creative Cooking

If your child is a budding baker then a day’s cookery workshop could be just the ticket for them.

Rachel runs numerous after school clubs in the area which are always really popular. An added bonus is that your kids will be making their own lunch during the workshop!

620 Tennis

620 describe their camps as ‘a fun and structured environment’ for kids to develop their tennis skills.

Mornings are dedicated to skill development while the afternoon is all about friendly matches and games. Prizes are on offer too!

Another couple of workshops here for budding chefs, where your children will learn how to make their own lunchbox favourites or sweet treats.

High Wycombe Rugby Union Football Club are running a half term camp in partnership with Ealing Trailfinders this year.

Expect fun rugby games and activities, skill sessions, game play and matches.
