Remember, remember… to book your tickets early. 🎆
Bonfire Night falls on a Thursday this year, which means the bangs are spread over a whole week. It kicks off on Halloween at the cricket club and builds to Saturday 7 November, when Naphill, Flackwell Heath, Holmer Green and Beaconsfield all light up the sky on the same night. You could almost watch two from the top of the right hill.
There's a bonfire on the night itself, a pub display with a live band, a school PTA letting one lucky winner press the launch button, and a Titanium show from the team behind London's New Year's Eve fireworks. Most of them are raising money for a local school, scout group or charity while they're at it.
Here's the lot, in date order. A few sold out last year, so don't hang about. 👇
Saturday 31 October
🎃 High Wycombe Cricket Club Fireworks Night
📍 High Wycombe Cricket Club, London Road, HP11 1DE
First up, and it's on Halloween — so expect a few spooky surprises in the display. Doors open at 5pm and the fireworks go up at around 7pm.
Food comes from Hellfire BBQ and VS Woodfire Pizza, there's a bar, and the kids get a couple of fairground rides to keep them busy while it gets dark.
Tickets: £10 adults, £5 children, £20 for a family of four, under-5s free. There's also a £20 adults-only VIP ticket, which gets you upstairs and onto the balcony for the best view in the house.
Good to know: no sparklers and no dogs. There's no parking on the night apart from blue badge holders, so walk if you can.
Thursday 5 November
🔥 Bonfire Night at The Walled Garden
📍 The Walled Garden, Chorley Road, West Wycombe, HP14 3AP
If you want to mark the actual night, this is the one. It's a bonfire rather than a fireworks display — a big fire, hot chocolate, coffee and mulled drinks, running 4–9pm.
Every penny from tickets goes to The FCN's FarmWell, which supports farmers with their wellbeing. Last year people brought their own chairs to sit round the fire, which is a very good idea.
Tickets: donations from £1
Good to know: there's parking on site, it's cashless, and they love dogs.

Friday 6 November
🎆 The Downley School Fireworks
📍 The Downley School, Faulkner Way, Downley, HP13 5AL
The Downley School PTA's big night of the year. Gates open at 5.30pm and the show starts at 7pm, with local artist Button playing live and a DJ keeping things going either side.
There's a BBQ, Thai food, candy floss, face painting and a bar. And here's a nice touch — the PTA is running a competition for one lucky person to start the countdown or press the launch button. The draw is on Wednesday 4 November.
Tickets: £12 adults, £8 children, under-2s free. Family tickets are £25 (one adult, two children), £35 (two adults, two children) or £42 (two adults, three children), plus a small booking fee.
🍻 Fireworks at The Full Moon
📍 The Full Moon, Hare Lane, Little Kingshill, HP16 0EE
A pub fireworks night, which is my kind of fireworks night. The Full Moon is putting on a display with a live band, food and drink — and if the weather turns, the heated marquee in the garden is a decent place to be.

Saturday 7 November
🏆 Naphill Fireworks Spectacular
📍 The Crick, Naphill Village Hall, HP14 4SX
Naphill holds the public-voted title of best firework display in Bucks, and the committee says it's spent a record amount on fireworks this year. No pressure, then.
Gates open at 4.30pm with the BBQ, mulled wine and bar, live music starts at 5pm and the bonfire's lit at 5.30pm. The main display runs 7–7.30pm, then the band comes back on until about 8.15pm.
Tickets: early bird prices are £12.90 adults, £6.70 children (5–12) and £37.40 for a family, with under-5s free. Early bird ends on Thursday 5 November. You can also buy in person at the Black Lion, The Wheel, the post office and the Co-op in the village.
Good to know: numbers are capped this year, so don't leave it late. There's no official parking — the 300 bus between Wycombe and Aylesbury stops right outside.

🔥 Flackwell Heath Village Bonfire & Fireworks
📍 Field at the end of Chapel Road, Flackwell Heath, HP10 9AB
Two displays for the price of one. The first is a gentler one for little ones, then the main event goes up afterwards — both by Illusion Fireworks.
Gates open at 5.30pm, the best guy competition kicks off at 6.30pm (bring yours!) and the bonfire is lit at around 6.45pm. There's beer, mulled wine, tea, coffee and a BBQ.
All the profits are split between Carrington Schools PTA, Juniper Hill School PTA and 1st Flackwell Heath Scouts.
Tickets: £11 in advance or £12.50 on the gate (limited). A family ticket for two adults and two children (5–15) is £40 in advance. Under-5s go free.
Good to know: no parking at the field, no sparklers, no animals, and under-14s need to be with an adult.
🎬 Holmer Green Community Fireworks
📍 Holmer Green Sports Association, Watchet Lane, HP15 6UF
Holmer Green's fifth community display, and this year it's choreographed to movie music. Gates open at 5pm and the fireworks start at 7pm. The stalls stay open afterwards, so there's no rush to leave.
Expect a licensed bar, local food vendors, community group stalls, light-up toys and rides for the kids.
Tickets: tickets only, and if it sells out there are no sales on the gate. Under-18s need to come with an adult.
Good to know: no sparklers and no bringing your own alcohol. The sports club car park is closed, so walk if you can. Blue badge spaces nearby need booking ahead via events@holmergreenvillagesociety.co.uk.
🎤 Beaconsfield Cricket Club Big Bang, Little Bang
📍 Beaconsfield Cricket Club, Wilton Park, London Road, HP9 2HZ
The biggest of the bunch. The fireworks are by Titanium, the company behind London's New Year's Eve display, and there's entertainment from 4pm right through to the finale.
The Little Bang is at 5.45pm — earlier, shorter and quieter (though not silent) for younger children. The main bonfire goes up at 6.45pm and the Big Bang musical display starts at 7.45pm. In between there's a funfair, food stalls, songs from Shrek the Musical, Sam Turrell as Harry Styles, Mirror Men and fire performers.
Tickets: £12.50 early bird or £43 for a family, with under-5s free. Early bird tickets are limited and family tickets can't be bought on the day — book ahead.
Good to know: there's no parking at the club. New this year, The Beaconsfield School on Wattleton Road has 100 spaces at £5 each, first come first served. Otherwise there's a free shuttle bus, and the organisers are warning of heavy traffic.

Before you go
Hardly any of these have parking, so plan to walk, get the bus or park a fair way off and walk the last bit. Leave yourself extra time on Saturday 7th, when half the area will be heading somewhere.
Leave the sparklers at home too — most of these displays don't allow them, and some will search bags on the way in.
