There’s a sweet new arrival heading to the Eden Centre this summer — and it’s coming with a big scoop of local success.
If you’ve ever found yourself scrolling Instagram, daydreaming about brownies, blondies or cookies with just the right level of goo, you might already know about Baked By Marie.
If not — you’re about to.
This brilliant local cottage bakery has just been named the winner of Eden’s Start-Up To Store competition, meaning she’ll be setting up her very first physical shop right here in town.
Marie was voted the winner of the store back in April, wowing the public with her ridiculously good bakes and genuine passion for creating sweet treats that spark joy.
💡From Side Hustle to Shopfront
Marie Hazelwood’s cottage bakery is based in Beaconsfield and was inspired by her passions for flowers and country life.
Her bakes have quickly gained traction (and an impressive fan base) thanks to her eye for indulgent flavour combos and a consistent Instagram presence that have people drooling over their phones.
In the past year or so, she’s developed a loyal customer base across Buckinghamshire and beyond — who follow her sales around all the local markets.
Now, with her win in Eden’s Start-Up to Store initiative, Marie is set to open a bricks-and-mortar shop in the Eden Centre this June — taking her business to the next delicious level.

🏆 About the Competition
The Start-Up To Store competition encouraged local independent business to pitch for a retail unit in Eden completely free for 6 months.
The idea was to offer a springboard for local talent, giving one lucky winner a chance to grow their business in a high-footfall, central location — and hopefully inject some fresh indie spirit into the shopping centre.
Baked By Marie was chosen as a finalist alongside Chapel House Fragrances, a local company who create handcrafted candles and diffusers. Both companies showcased their products in Eden back in April with the public voting for the one they’d most like to see in the shopping centre.
🍪 What to Expect
When Baked By Marie officially opens her store this summer, expect a menu of treats, including her signature cookies plus cakes, homemade jams, chutneys and more.
This is exactly the kind of local success story we love to see at The Pulse — a talented entrepreneur turning a passion project into a full-time gig, and choosing to do it right here in Wycombe.
We’ll be popping by the shop as soon as it opens, and you can bet we’ll be first in line for the blondies.
📍Baked By Marie’s kiosk will be opening in the Edent Centre this June, in the unit next to The Lounge, opposite TK Maxx. Stay tuned for more on her Instagram @baked_bymarie.
