Council Catch-Up
🏛️ Decision date set for conservation area: Cabinet decides on 10th November whether to adopt a revised High Wycombe Conservation Area appraisal. The consultation version merged the town's four conservation areas into one and extended the boundary in four places, across six wards.
🅿️ Permit parking proposed for 6 roads: The council wants views on permit parking for Coningsby Road, Mayhew Crescent, Adam Close, Hepplewhite Close, Wheelers Park and Pimms Grove. The plans also add double yellows and shared-use bays on some r. Comments close Fri 23 Oct.
♿ Views wanted on SEND access in schools: The Buckinghamshire Education Partnership is updating its 2027–2032 Accessibility Strategy, covering how SEND pupils access lessons, buildings, information and wider school life. Parents, carers and schools can respond until 15th November.
💷 Councillors review how the council runs its £1.4bn property estate: The Finance & Resources Select Committee meets today to review the council's new five-year plan for its 1,148 buildings. These include 307 investment properties, which earn £21m a year in rent. Under the plan, buildings the council no longer needs could be reused, let out or sold, with each case decided on its merits.
🏠 Flats for two town-centre buildings
11-15 White Hart Street: Plans would turn the empty upper floors of this 17th-century former inn into two flats, with the shop staying below and a new shopfront. The heritage officer has no objection, as long as materials and colour are approved first. Decision pending.
6 Bull Lane: Approved for three flats on the first floor and in the roof space.
